FAQ’s
- How much do I charge?
It depends on the size and complexity of the project. The best way for me to give you an accurate quote is to have a one-on-one consultation which allows us to discuss the project fully. The process is painless and a good investment in time because you can find out more about me as a copywriter and I can familiarize myself with your expectations and goals. Some copywriters have set fees. I charge for what the project is worth. Would you pay for a Hummer if you only needed a Kia? Send me an email and ask for a sample rate schedule today.
- What are my payment options?
I accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Checks, Money Orders and Paypal. Credit Card information is accepted by phone or fax, or if you prefer to use Paypal, I can send you an invoice by email.
-
Do I offer financing?
Yes, a payment plan can be accepted for larger projects. 3-, 6- and 12-month options are available.
-
How do we meet if I’m hundreds of miles away?
That’s the beauty of the Internet! We can teleconference and collaborate online to view documents, share files and edit in real time.
- You don’t see what you need listed on my site.
I do specialize in writing newsletters and for the Web, but this doesn’t limit my abilities. I’ll promote your business in the best way possible whether it’s direct response, technical papers, or press releases. The formats are slightly different, but the writing process is the same. If you need a project I’m not comfortable writing, I’ll let you know upfront.
-
Do I have your specific industry experience?
I may not have the specific experience you’re looking for, however I’ve written for many different industries and pride myself on being able to step into any situation and quickly get up to speed.
In copywriting, and writing in general, the idea is to structure the material for the best possible results. For copywriting, my job is to create the largest impact possible, communicate your message and get the lead or make the sale.
To give you an example, an advertising executive can promote breakfast cereal one day and pharmaceuticals the next without having much, if any, experience working in those fields. Between interviews and research to gather the information needed, I’m confident I can deliver the right copy for you.
-
Am I willing to take direction?
Of course. I’ll take as much or as little direction you wish to give. Yes, I have an ego; all writers do. If we didn’t we wouldn’t have the gumption to write for a living. The important point to remember is it’s your project, not mine. In the end you need to be happy with the results.
-
Do I design Web sites?
In a word. No. However, if you’re designing your site or marketing piece yourself, I can give you advice on layout and readability, but I’m not a programmer or Web designer. I specialize in copywriting to give you the best product possible. This is why I work closely with professional graphic and Web designers; as a team we can provide you with exactly what you need. -
What style of writing do I provide?
Technical - Corporate - Conversational - Direct Response - Editorial
Just to name a few. What’s right for you? That depends on the project. In particular, Web sites need conversational, direct response or editorial writing to gain your reader’s attention.
